Introductory Session
The client/couple leaves the Introductory Session with the necessary materials and enough basic information to begin charting her cycle. Following two weeks of charting, the client/couple begins a series of private Follow Ups with their FertilityCare Practitioner for detailed instruction specific to the women’s cycle as it unfolds on her chart. From the Introductory Session, the first four Follow Ups are at two week intervals, the fifth Follow Up one month later, then the sixth, seventh, and eighth at three month intervals.
Instruction/Follow-up Schedule
Schedule
This teaching schedule may vary depending on the case management needs of the client. For those women of normal fertility using the Creighton Model System (CrMS) to identify their natural periods of fertility and infertility, this teaching schedule has proven effective.
For those women needing further medical attention, a referral process begins after the first 60 days of charting, placing them into the specialized care of Creighton’s fully qualified obstetricians and gynecologists.
Engaged Couples Program
FertilityCare™ System
For those couples seeking to fulfill the marriage preparation requirements of St. Thomas Aquinas University Parish, see www.stauva.org/nfp and scroll down for information specific to the Creighton Model System (CrMS).
Teens
Often the young teenage woman presenting severe menstrual cramps, very heavy menses, highly irregular cycles, etc., is prescribed oral contraceptives to temporarily alleviate these symptoms. The Creighton Model System (CrMS) offers a completely different approach.
Mother/Daughter Program
This program is designed for the mother and daughter together. The CrMS along with NaproTECHNOLOGY (NPT) will diagnose and treat the underlying cause of the problem without the use of hormonal contraceptives, and thus restore your daughter’s gynecological health. To schedule an appointment in the Charlottesville area, contact either Julie McDermott, FCPI, juliecrms@gmail.com or LaDean Barnes, MEd, CFCP, ladeancrms@gmail.com, or call 434.806.5097. For the Richmond area, contact Sarah Jennings Phillips, FCPI, sarahcrms@gmail.com.
